I am Sambou KONE, a PhD Aspirant in Electrical & Computer Engineering with research interests at the intersection of Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, AI Robotics, Embedded Systems, Power Electronics, Wireless Communications, VLSI, and SoC. I hold dual Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Engineering & Telecom from National School of Engineering, Bamako, Mali, where I ranked 2nd out of 16 students, and Electronics & Communications Engineering from Jain University (in collaboration with Texas Instruments), Bangalore, graduating as Department Topper and Gold Medalist with a GPA of 3.64/4.00 (9.106/10).
Research Interests
My research centers on developing intelligent systems that integrate machine learning with hardware implementations. I am particularly interested in:
- Computer Vision, Multimodal Learning, Reinforcement Learning & AI Robotics: Vision-language models, vision transformers (ViT), visual understanding systems, intelligent agents, robot learning, autonomous systems, and human-robot interaction
- Graph Neural Networks: Graph-based learning, network analysis, and relational reasoning for structured data
- Human Learning & AI: Understanding how humans learn and applying those principles to develop more effective AI systems
- Quantum Machine Learning: Exploring quantum computing paradigms for enhanced ML performance
- Embedded AI Systems: Real-time intelligent systems on microcontrollers, VLSI and FPGAs
- Deep Learning for Signal Processing: Applications in battery management, speech recognition, intelligent systems, and biomedical signal analysis
- Power Electronics and Wireless Communications: Design and optimization of power conversion systems, RF circuit design, wireless communication protocols, and integration of AI for intelligent power management and communication systems
I am seeking PhD opportunities to advance fundamental research in these areas while contributing to practical applications that address real-world challenges.
Current Work
I currently serve as Co-Founder & AI Researcher at Super DataInsights & AI Scientists Innovations, where I lead research initiatives in computer vision and multimodal AI systems. My work focuses on vision-language models and advanced computer vision algorithms (ViT, DTFR), with the goal of publishing in top-tier conferences and journals.
Concurrently, I work as a Data Analyst at ObjectWays Technologies (Chennai), contributing to NLP and speech-to-text systems for financial services, achieving 90% accuracy in French language processing using BigQuery SQL, ETL pipelines, and tools such as Amazon SageMaker and vTensorAct Studio.
